The gift of vision
After 10 years i managed to get myself some glasses. They are awesome light and very comfortable to wear. Without them i'm so blind now.
I was at a Party
it was a weird one. A Friend of my Woman got diagnosed with Lung Cancer a couple of Weeks ago, her prognoses was that she had 2 Weeks left. A devastating message.
My wife was visiting her a couple of days later, she was dancing at home and found her Peace. Then we visited her "Going Away" Party. It is a weird feeling when you know that when you leave that party it is very likely you never see that person again. The Party itself wasn't sad more like a normal Birthday Party or some Family & Friend gathering. But there was a long Line and everybody wanted to see her. She mad a sick but happy impression but it still was weird to see her saying good bye.
A couple of days ago she passed away, it was sad but expected. A good friend is gone, we will never see her again (but we will have some Margaritas and remember her ).
Goodbye Ubuntu, Hello Fedora
I used Ubuntu for a couple of years, i liked the fixed Release Schedule, the new Features and the Hardware Compatibility. I think Ubuntu did a lot for bringing the Linux Desktop OS to the Mainstream Customers.
But now i switched to (back) Fedora. I always liked Fedora but for some strange Reason it never liked my Hardware. But it works very neat on my new HP Laptop .
A German in a german restaurant
My Wife and i visited Schulte & Herr today. It is a german Restaurant in Downtown Portland, ME.
It was really neat. It is funny to see other People react when they tasted food the first time, you had all your life. My Wife had Bratwurst and Sauerkraut. Born and raised in Thuringia i have to say: our Bratwurst is better but my Wife loved hers
I had Goulash which was pretty good.
The place itself could need a little more Interior Design but I'm pretty sure that will come in the Future.
We will be back there to check out the Breakfast Menu
Steve Jobs
I have never met or even been close to Steve Jobs. He still had a huge Impact on my Life. I truly believe that this man could see the future (at least the technology future) for the next 5 years.
His Lifestory from founding Apple, getting fired, founding Next, Pixar. Coming back to Apple is inspiring and moving.
This man changed Industries, yes it is a plural. The Computer industry, Music Industry, Film Industry and Phones. All won't be the same without him.
And he made that Speech:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
(Steve Jobs)
Thank you Steve Jobs
